Carissa Carter

Born in Mooresville, Indiana, Carissa became immersed in country music when she moved to Sulphur Springs, Texas at the age of seven. While growing up surrounded by southern gospel and bluegrass melodies, she sang constantly, whether it was in church or to the cows behind her house. At the age of fifteen, Carissa began writing songs, but it would be five more years before she began playing them for others. In March 2022, she released her first album, The Scratches: Part 1, a collection of original songs. She currently plays at weddings and opens for local acts while writing her next album.
