Brotha Josh Biography
Brotha Josh is the alias of New Orleans native and Birmingham-based multi-instrumentalist Joshua Holt.
Initially recording his own music as home demos during the 2020 pandemic, Josh worked to craft a unique sound. Blending indie pop and classic soul influences, he created his own musical gumbo, which he calls Indie Soul.
Since then, he has been steadily releasing music, including two EPs in 2022 (The Caller and The Operator) and numerous singles along the way.
Performing alongside his backing band, The Bad News, Josh delivers electrifying grooves and stylish visuals. His forthcoming EP marks another step in his synthesis of old and new musical styles.
