Pepe Biography
Pepe is a 25-year-old composer from Liège, Belgium. *Pepe* means "pepper" in Italian. Given her roots connecting, her last name became an obvious choice to represent her.
With her debut single *OK BERNARD*, she plays with hidden meanings and references to her personal experiences. She disrupts the listener’s ear with seemingly nonsensical references at first glance. Behind its simple structure, the track requires multiple listens to grasp its true meaning.
These old songs are traces of her journey up to now. We first meet her with *Les Coquelicots*, which she recorded at 20 after winning first prize in a competition that allowed her to meet Ivan Georgiev. With simplicity, she presented *Aime-toi* during her appearance on the Belgian TV show “Qu4tre.” Then, to assert her independence, last year, she released *Quand ce sera la fin* an adaptation of Billie Eilish’s "When the Party Is Over," which she recorded herself.
Before the summer, she met Kid Noize, with whom she recorded two tracks, including “Chaleur.”
In October 2024, she will perform a brand-new set accompanied by a full band, with the first date at the legendary Reflektor venue. A concert exploring her compositions from the age of 15 to today. Ten years of songwriting traced through 15 songs for a performance in the city where she grew up.
