As he opened the show with “I’m growing old” the audience screamed in unison “NO!” They refused to accept that his time was ending. Tom’s voice, his sense of humor and clear genuine love and appreciation for his audience was evident. Youngsters, who probably weren’t even born when he began his career, did slingshot thongs onto the stage, during ‘ Sexbomb’. Followed by more of the same from their grandmothers! He giggled like a school boy. And when he sang, “ I Won’t Crumble If You Fall”, honoring his deceased wife, you could have heard a pin drop and the reverence of all 3,000 people. Sir Thomas has evolved, just shy of his 85th birthday, into a living legacy. I feel blessed to have experienced the 1970’s version and the evolution of the man who is still touching lives fifty-five years later. And until we meet again…thank you and God Bless!
