Bill Booth Biography
Bill Booth was born and raised in the State of Maine USA and arrived in Oslo with a band from New York City. He quickly received offers from several successful Norwegian bands that lead to an eventual relocation. He has received Norwegian grammy award nominations (Spellemannpris) in both country and blues categories.
Bill Booth's musical influences cover a wide spectrum, from Americana, Celtic and Nordic folk to country, blues and rock. As a singer songwriter with fiddle and guitar, he has lived a life of frequent travel. From the folk and dance hall of rural New England to Louisiana and the deep south to New York's city streets and the distant shores of Scandinavia, Booth has absorbed musical influences throughout.
His sixth solo album of self-written songs is a testament to this with a solid mix of Americana flavor of Celtic folk and acoustic rock with an international lineup of musicians from America, Norway and Ireland. He has additionally written dozens of songs recorded by a wide range of artists.
Bill Booth's fiddle and mandolin playing might be heard on many album releases ranging from rock band CC Cowboys and Åge Alexandersen to folk and country artists Steinar Albrigtsen and Tom Pacheco.
Bill first came to Oslo on tour with a band from New York and quickly received offers from established Norwegian actors. He has produced, mixed and engineered numerous albums and singles, including his own highly acclaimed
"Some distant shore". In addition, he was signed with the prestigious Nashville music publisher Tillis Tunes.
