The Watcher

Forged in perseverance and driven by a passion for heavy metal, The Watcher emerged as a force in the underground scene with the 2021 release of their debut EP, Your Turn To Die. Conceived in 2016 by guitarist and bassist Max Furst, the project overcame years of challenges to deliver a sound that resonates with diehard fans. Drawing inspiration from legends like Black Sabbath, Pentagram, and Iron Maiden, as well as NWOBHM cult classics such as Satan, Blitzkrieg and Crucifixion, The Watcher crafts music that feels both timeless and powerful.

Their debut full-length album, Out of the Dark (2024) represents a milestone in their journey thus far. Recorded at Artifact Audio in Queens, New York, with engineer Sasha Stroud, the album is the first to feature the band as a complete unit. Vocalist and guitarist Paden Reed, who joined in 2020, brought fresh energy to the songwriting, while drummer Chris Spraker’s driving rhythms provide a dynamic backbone. Together, they’ve created an album that captures the distilled essence of classic heavy metal while pushing it into modern territory.

The album’s themes are reflected in striking artwork by Austin-based artist Burney, depicting humanity’s struggles in a doomed world. With plans to tour in 2025, The Watcher is ready to bring their electrifying sound to stages everywhere.
