Kelsey Rae Copeland Biography
Born in Abingdon, Virginia, Copeland grew up in the heart of Appalachia listening to the culturally rich and bountiful sounds that permeate the region. She has been compared to Patsy Cline and Kitty Wells with her voice, akin to a time machine that transports the listener to that smoke filled, neon-lit, Honky Tonk we all imagine when listening to the classics. Based in Nashville, she regularly performs in Music City and recently completed a "Texas Run” including a performance at Gruene Hall, the oldest and most storied dancehall in Texas. Copeland is recording her second full length album which she is planning on releasing in the spring of 2024. "Fortune Teller", Kelsey Rae Copeland's first full length release, which was recorded at Steele Creek Studios in Bristol, Tennessee and features Amythyst Kiah on banjo and Kris Truelson on acoustic guitar, mixes tradition with old school Country 'twang'. Kelsey Rae Copeland is notably, a featured performer at Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion — her 2023 performance marking her seventh appearance. With her distinctive voice and authenticity, Kelsey Rae Copeland is a memorable and impressive performer.
