PHENOMENA "Abstract art is propelled by ... hope and hunger. It reflects the urge to push towards the limit, to colonise the borderland around the openings onto nothingness, where the land has not been settled, where the new can emerge" - Kirk Varnedoe, Pictures of nothing: Abstract art since Pollock Oxford Improvisers present PHENOMENA, a multimedia event where we examine relationships and borderlines between video art, free improvised music and abstraction. The audience will be invited to take a leap into audiovisual abstract worlds created live by Oxfordshire based artists. Phenomena Biography

Phenomena is a heavy metal project by producer Tom Galley and Wilfried Rimensberger. Phenomena's music has its roots in the classic hard rock genre and many of Phenomena's contributors have been members of classic hard rock bands such as Deep Purple, Queen or Trapeze. Phenomena II's Dream Runner having become a critically acclaimed rock music classic. The John Wetton-voiced "Did It All For Love", which was the first Phenomena number 1 chart single at the time, still gets airplay on radio stations around the globe. Phenomena was originally on BMG RCA International with released albums selling well in Europe, South America and Japan.
