Stefania Verità

Stefania Verità was born in Italy and started her cello studies at the „A.Vivaldi“ music conservatory in Alessandria where she obtained her diploma in 1985.
After winning a scholarship, she continued her musical education at the „scuola di alto perfezionamento musicale“ in Saluzzo under the guidance of Thomas Demenga and Rocco Filippini, and where she attended courses with, among others Milan Turkovic, Sergiu Celibidache, Maurice Bourgue, Bruno Canino.
After a European tour with the Schleswig Holstein Festival Orchestra under Celibidache as assistant principal cello, she moved to Switzerland, where she attended the cello soloist class led by Patrick Demenga at the Bern music conservatory finishing her studies with a brilliant soloist diploma in 1991.
Stefania Verità has been chamber music partner of Milan Turkovic with whom she made her debut in the Konzerthaus in Vienna, Gerard Wyss, Jean Pierre Rampal, Maxcence Larrieu, to name a few, and since her permanence in Switzerland she has been performing in many leading orchestras such as the Tonhalle Orchestra, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Musikkollegium Winterthur, Sinfonieorchester  St. Gallen, etc.
She has been assistant principal cellist in the Lucern Symphony Orchestra from 2008 to 2010, cello soloist in the Ensemble La Banda Antix, Corund Ensemble, Camerata Zurich, Camerata Helvetica, Zuger Sinfonietta and guest solo cello in The St. Gallen Sinfonieorchester.
She is member of the Nina Corti Ensemble since 1993 with whom she played in the biggest theaters in Europe, and cellist in the Ensemble Salon Passion since 1997.
Beside her intense concert activities as soloist and the performances in chamber music, in orchestras on modern as well as baroque cello, Stefania Verità has undertaken various projects from jazz music to experimental music, and is to be heard in many studio recordings. (Pippo Pollina, Linnard Bardill, Reto Burrel, Ernst Reijseger, Pablo Nahar, Marc Dresser, Bastian Baker, etc..)   
Her musical activity has brought her to perform in the most renowned theaters in Europe, U.S.A. and Japan.
Since 2004 Stefania Verità has been teaching cello at the Music Conservatory in Zurich
