She Wants Revenge Biography
She Wants Revenge is an American darkwave/rock band hailing from Los Angeles, California and formed in 2005. The band is comprised of lead members Justin Warfield and Adam 12 and by accompaniment members TommySheWants and Scott Ellis.
They were signed by Fred Durst to his interscope imprint flawless records. However, as of Feb. 27th, 2008, She Wants Revenge now run their own record label called perfect kiss records.
She Wants Revenge draws inspiration from various bands including Bauhaus, Depeche Mode, New Order and The Sisters of Mercy. She Wants Revenge have been compared to Joy Division and Interpol in the music press. The latter of which is understandable as both bands draw influence from the baritone vocal range of Ian Curtis.
The band released two albums, first was the self-titled album, which hit the stores in 2006. 'This Is Forever' was the next album, which was released in 2007. The band toured with Depeche Mode and Placebo during 2006. They contributed to the track 'Kindnap the Sandy Claws' which was released in the compilation 'The Nightmare Before Christmas Soundtrack' in 2006. Next year, in 2007, She Wants Revenge was featured on the track 'Time', with Timbaland.
She Wants Revenge is just the latest twist in a long, varied career for Justin Warfield. Starting out as a Prince Paul-produced rapper, Warfield went on to form The Justin Warfield Supernaut, playing an LSD-fueled take on poppy grunge. From there Warfield moved on to the uk and formed One Inch Punch with Gianni Garofalo (a member of the Supernaut). One Inch Punch's twisted take on lo-fi scuzz grunge was topped with laconic rap from Warfield. Their biggest hit came with Pretty Piece of Flesh from the William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet movie soundtrack. Warfield and Garofalo's next move was back to LA and was in a more alt-rock direction with crossover act Tape, whose incredibly powerful sound never made it further than a couple of EPs. Somewhere between all those records, Warfield found time to perform guest vocal duties on a wide range of material including Bomb the Bass's seminal Bug Powder Dust and album tracks for Placebo and the The Chemical Brothers. She Wants Revenge sees Warfield alongside his musical partner Adam12 tackling the most successful sound of his career to date.
