Cal Stamp Biography
Cal Stamp is a rock 'n' roll singer-songwriter. Taking cues from enduring American icons like Tom Petty and Don Henley, Cal writes songs that showcase his fresh slant on a classic formula: vintage guitar work, sing-along choruses, and character-driven lyrics about lovers and losers.
In addition to his solo efforts, Cal is the guitarist and a principal songwriter for Record Heat (f/k/a Spirit Animal), who signed to Atlantic Records in 2018.
Cal has toured the U.S. extensively, sharing the stage with acts like America, The Struts, Fitz & the Tantrums, Third Eye Blind, Incubus, and The Cult. As a member of Record Heat, Cal has received major attention from a variety of high-profile media outlets, including Rolling Stone, Consequence of Sound, Entertainment Weekly, The Washington Post, Billboard, MTV, Alternative Press, and Interview Magazine.
Rolling Stone has praised Cal’s solo work, saying, “Cal is GREAT.” Chorus.fm says, “Your next music obsession has arrived, thanks to Cal Stamp.” Cal’s songs have been featured on Apple Music’s New in Alternative and New in Rock playlists.
Cal’s third single, “Trapped in Paradise,” appears on NOW That's What I Call Music, Vol. 84 as part of the NOW What's Next! series. "Trapped in Paradise" saw its commercial radio debut on the Washington DC alternative station DC101.
“Cal Stamp walks the line between pop and rock brilliantly,” says station MD and afternoon DJ Greg Roche. “‘Trapped in Paradise’ is an infinitely accessible track in the vein of ‘Heat Waves’ by Glass Animals. Cal is an artist to watch in 2023.”
Cal lives in Brooklyn, NY.
