The Great Escape is the festival for new music, showcasing emerging artists from all over the world in 30+ walkable venues across the city and a pop-up festival site on Brighton Beach. It’s the first place to discover your new favourite artist and see them in an intimate setting before they go on to headline major festival stages.
TGE is also attended by the music industry who are on the hunt for the next big thing. We run a conference alongside the gigs featuring insightful panels, topical debates, keynote speeches and networking opportunities in abundance.
The Alternative Escape, our Spotlight Shows, secret gigs, club nights and spontaneous collaborations all add to the festivities and make this weekend in Brighton one not to miss.

The Stingrays Biography
The Sting-Rays (UK). Formed in the early 80's, they were based in Northern England. During a six year span they issued five albums, six singles, appeared on several Psychobilly compilation albums and toured all over Europe. Their live performances were legendary, highly energetic and chaotic.
Often labeled under Psychobilly, but they were more than that. They had original sound and style and often progressive lyrics. On "Cryptic And Coffee Time" (1987) they were evolved and the "psycho" was replaced by a more melancholic sound. Unfortunately they split up after that album.

Another band named the Stingrays came from Detroit, US (1980-1988), they have recorded on Scam Records and A.B.S. Records.
