Yes. We do ask the bands to turn down slightly but prepare for it to be loud. We strongly recommend that all children wear ear defenders (about £10-£20). I don’t have children, can I still come? Yes, everyone is welcome whether they have kids with them or not. We just ask that you be mindful that there will be young children about and to let them get to the front if they want and to have a good view even if they don’t. What if my child wants a break from the loud music? No problem. Bands will play for around 30 minutes and there will be breaks in between the bands. If you or your child wants a break when a band is playing, you can take them to the front bar or even to the Old London Road Cafe a couple of doors down from the venue. Is there somewhere to get food if I’m hungry? Yes, Old London Road Cafe is a couple of doors down from the venue. It serves fresh food, coffee, baked goods and more. A selection of baked goods from the cafe will be made available for sale in the Fighting Cocks at YAK shows and you can pay by card. How do I get to the Fighting Cocks? With great ease! TRAIN: It’s a four minute walk from Kingston train station (in Zone 6 with direct trains from London Waterloo, Clapham Junction, Vauxhall, Wimbledon, Richmond…) BUS: Fairfield Bus Station is right opposite the venue. Loads of other buses serve Kingston too. DRIVING: The Cattle Market car park is right opposite the venue and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Can my band play Youth Anthems Kingston? Maybe! It depends how many shows we do but we’d love to hear from you. Please email us with some details about you or your band, where you’re from, and some music if you have it. We’re particularly keen to hear from bands with members that are under 18. All genres welcome! Please contact youthanthemskingston@hotmail.com to apply.

Great show as always. The two new band members fitted in seamlessly and raising a glass to Jim was very moving.

The Lagan are a riotous band with their roots in punk rock with a heavy trad folk influence. Starting in 2008 as a means to get together to play some songs and sink some jars, it quickly evolved into something bigger. The band has since released a self funded full length album and an EP on Banquet Records, went on to tour around the UK and Europe, played on some of the finest stages with some of the finest bands in the world, and continues to go from strength to strength.
