Million Dead Biography
Million Dead were a London-based hardcore punk band that formed back in late 2000 and ended after a farewell UK tour in September 2005.
The combination of original guitarist Cameron Dean's diverse and intricate guitar riffs along with the powerhouse combination of Julez walking basslines were the perfect backdrop to Turners often upfront and outspoken views on UK politics and society as a whole.
They released two full length records 'A Song To Ruin' in 2003 to critical acclaim. The extensive touring leading up to and after the release of the album forced the band into hiatus after losing Dean on guitar to be replaced by friend of the band Tom Fowler who at the time was also playing twin-bass metal monoliths Palehorse with drummer Ben Dawson. After two years away the band returned with what was their second and final EP 'Harmony No Harmony' in 2005.
Unfortunately for Million Dead, the kids attention spans had not lasted their 2 year hiatus. The enertia of going from headlining the London Astoria to another tour a the bottom of the rung, poor ticket sales and less than favorable reviews of the album took hard to the band. In particular Turner seemed perplexed by what had happened in the rock scene since their departure, often barraging fans for not stepping up to the stage or dancing Turner began to come across as perhaps having ideas above his station.
Shortly after the release of the album the band decided to throw in the towel with Frank Turner persuing his solo efforts consisting of alternative folk peices far removed from what Million Dead had set out to be.
