About this concert
Dauzat St. Marie at Big Mike’s in Thibodaux, Louisiana. All Ages! Free show! About Dauzat St. Marie: The name Dauzat St. Marie (pronouced “dō-zaht saynt mah-ree") has been circulating quite far and wide these past several years through heavyweight touring with some heavyweight artists. Known for their lockstep vocal harmonies and catchy, yet thought-provoking songwriting, singer/songwriter troubadours Mat Dauzat and Heather St. Marie have kept the name Dauzat St. Marie popping up all over the U.S. by touring as main support for Grammy® Award winning heartthrob Rick Springfield’s “Stripped Down” solo acoustic show series for the past five years and peppered in dates with The Marshall Tucker Band, Lindsay Ell, Schuyler Fisk / Sissy Spacek, and Rick Derringer. Most recently, Dauzat St. Marie toured the U.S. as support for legendary music icons Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo. 2020 was shaping up to be Dauzat St. Marie’s biggest year to date. The duo started the year by performing at Los Angeles’s iconic Dodger Stadium for the Komen “More Than Pink” Walk and was preparing for their biggest tour to date – the support slot on the summer arena tour with Rick Springfield and one of the world’s best-selling groups of all time – CHICAGO. Sadly, the tour was terminated less than two months before it even began due to Covid-19. Though being handed a tough blow, Dauzat St. Marie didn’t skip a beat – the duo used the forced downtime to begin releasing new music and video as soon as the world went into lockdown in March. In less than nine months, they had gained over 1.6 million YouTube channel views, their music video for “Common Ground” alone gained over a million views, their music video for “In It Together” was used by The American Cancer Society as a vehicle for awareness and fundraising in a national Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign (Heather is a recent breast cancer survivor), and one of their singles titled “Where Were You?” landed on the 2021 Grammy® Awards ballot in three separate categories – Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year, and Best Pop Duo / Group Performance.  While continuing to roll out singles in 2021, Dauzat St. Marie was invited to record in collaboration with Zac Brown, Jason Mraz, KT Tunstall, Keith Goodwin (Good Old War), and other Taylor Guitars sponsored artists on the song “I Know What Love Is,” with all funds raised going to MusicCares to assist musicians struggling during the pandemic. The song has been streamed over 2.5 million times and raised over $12,000 for MusicCares.

What fans are saying

April 14th 2024
This act opened for Rick Springfield and REO Speedwagon. I had not heard of them, so I did some investigation on YouTube prior to the show date to know what type of music I would hear. Their music is very pleasant and they are very good. They played just four songs: three originals ("Watch Me Go," "Time to Go Home," and "Time Slips Away") and one cover (Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time"). I spoke with them at their merch table at the end of the evening; they are very nice. I would see them again if they played in the area. Unfortunately, I only HEARD the first two songs; I did get to see the performance of the last two songs. The merch lines for Springfield and REO were long and not very efficient; many attendees were still in line when Dauzat St. Marie took the stage. That's no fault of the act! However, it does effect their exposure to potential new fans!

Dauzat St. Marie Biography

ABOUT DAUZAT ST. MARIE
pronounced “dō-zaht saynt mah-ree”

The name Dauzat St. Marie has been circulating quite far and wide these past several years through heavyweight touring with some heavyweight artists. Known for their lockstep vocal harmonies and catchy, yet thought-provoking songwriting, singer/songwriter troubadours Mat Dauzat and Heather St. Marie have kept the name Dauzat St. Marie popping up all over the U.S. touring as main support act for Grammy Award winning heartthrob Rick Springfield, 4-time Grammy Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Pat Benatar, and most recently rock legends REO Speedwagon… all while peppering in dates with The Marshall Tucker Band, Melissa Manchester, Sheila E., and Rick Derringer.

Dauzat St. Marie kicked off the year 2020 with a performance at Los Angeles’s iconic Dodger Stadium for the Komen “More Than Pink” Walk (Heather is a recent breast cancer survivor and beacon for awareness), then the duo began preparing for their biggest tour to date – the support slot on the summer arena tour with Rick Springfield and one of the world’s best-selling groups of all time – CHICAGO. Sadly, the tour was terminated less than two months before it even began due to Covid-19. Though being handed a tough blow, Dauzat St. Marie didn’t skip a beat – the duo used the forced downtime to begin releasing new music and videos as soon as the world went into lockdown. Their first single released during lockdown titled “Common Ground” secured a coveted spot on the world-famous music compilation series “Now That’s What I Call Music” volume 75, gaining Dauzat St. Marie a large new audience worldwide with the compilation series’ cult-like followers.

In less than nine months into the lockdown, Dauzat St. Marie gained over 1.6 million YouTube channel views, with their music video for “Common Ground” logging over a million views alone. Their music video for survival anthem “In It Together” was used by The American Cancer Society as a vehicle for awareness and fundraising in a national Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign, and their single “Where Were You?” landed on the 2021 Grammy® Awards ballot in three separate categories – Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year, and Best Pop Duo / Group Performance.
While continuing to roll out singles into 2021, Dauzat St.

In late February, 2023, after having seen Dauzat St. Marie performance videos on YouTube, multi-platinum global icon Seal recruited Mat to take over guitar and backing vocal duties in his band. The two performed his hit single “Kiss From A Rose” as an acoustic duo on the Jennifer Hudson Show and Good Morning America before they joined the rest of the band in April to embark on the “Seal 30th Anniversary World Tour” – celebrating 30 years of his first two smash hit albums. Famed producer of those first two records Trevor Horn (Seal, Tears For Fears, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Yes, Stevie Nicks, Grace Jones) who was Musical Director and bassist in Seal’s 30th Anniversary band, additionally recruited Mat to perform guitar/vocal duties in his band The Buggles, which was the support act on the Seal 30th Anniversary World Tour. Nearing the end of the tour, Seal recruited Heather as Backing Vocalist in the band as well, marking the first time Mat and Heather had ever been in a band together in which neither was the front person.

With the Seal tour happening in the foreground, Dauzat St. Marie launched a radio promotions campaign in the background for their single “Common Ground,” which achieved airplay on 60 stations across Europe and the UK, allowing for the duo to embark on a successful tour of Ireland beginning the very day after the Seal 30th Anniversary World Tour concluded in late September. With demand across the UK increasing, Dauzat St. Marie is currently planning a return tour for late 2024.

On the heels of the worldwide excitement generated from the Seal 30th Anniversary tour, Dauzat St. Marie landed the support slot on a highly-successful US arena tour with music legends REO Speedwagon and Rick Springfield this March…. elevating the buzz about Dauzat St. Marie to arena-level volumes.
