The Commitments Biography
The Commitments is a group made for the screen version of the book "The Commitments" by Roddy Doyle. They play soul although they're white, because as their manager Jimmy Rabitte says "The Irish are the blacks of Europe. And Dubliners are the blacks of Ireland. And the Northside Dubliners are the blacks of Dublin. So say it once, say it loud: I'm black and I'm proud."
The movie was also the breakthrough for singer Andrew Strong.
