Violet Core

Violet Core knows how to impress with her creative output - She is active as a producer, musician, DJ, label & event owner, and she studied audio engineering. Since 2005, she has been organizing and managing events, and she's been working in different areas of the music industry for over 15 years now. The artist stands behind the decks since 2014 and has been a musician since childhood. In her teenage years, she taught herself bass and electric guitar, and at 15, she was awarded a scholarship to one of Hamburg's most prestigious dance, singing and drama schools. She has been involved in several band projects, where she was a lead singer and bass player.

Her DJ sets have a unique and infectious vibe that blends harder, technoid, classic and deeper styles, straight from the darkside of drum & bass. Moreover, she doesn't miss out on genre-spanning moments. She started DJing with vinyl and later added CDJs to her sets. As a producer, Violet Core is active as one half of Scary Woods and also produces other electronic and analog-experimental music as a solo artist. In 2021, she recorded her vocals for the track „Consciousness“, which was released on DNB Database in collaboration with Bons. As Scary Woods, she is part of the „Wuestensturm Remix EP“ by Giana Brotherz on Basswerk alongside The Green Man, Zardonic and Zombie Cats.

As a booker and promoter, she provides the Hamburg drum & bass scene with some of the most sought after dark and hard drum & bass artists. In 2011 she founded the dark drum and bass event series Bass Forward The Revolution and even brought the worldwide acclaimed Therapy Sessions to Hamburg. Only five years later, she co-founded the drum & bass label Insomnius Music.
