The Purrs

The Purrs are unlucky in love, crushed by their day jobs, soaked in whiskey, mired in snarky wit... and renowned for their blistering live performances. Their music is made for the late hours: an after work visit to the bar, dollars crumpled in pocket from being clumped in a fist; the same fist that launches upward in exaltation for their roaring guitar solos, blues-y lyricism, and brain-pulsing rhythms emphasized by Thurston Moore-ish pedal stomps.

The Purrs have a rich musical history, marked by appearances at Bumbershoot and MidPoint music festivals, weekend coast-to-coast jaunts to play CMJ, national tours, broken-down vans, a song featured on the HBO series Californication, heavy rotation on influential radio stations such as KEXP, WOXY, and SIRIUS, and hundreds of gigs with such talents as Macklemore, Pearl Jam, Okkervil River, Kula Shaker, The Wrens, Jesse Sykes, The Sea and Cake, and Film School.
