Them Damn Kings Biography

Them Damn Kings guitarist/vocalist Jef Rhodes knows a lot about bone shaking riffs, powerful melodies, and timeless modern hard rock music. Having spent the past 15 years on the road as both a guitar tech, and as a front of house soundman for some of the world’s most intense, and innovative heavy metal and hard rock bands (Lacuna Coil, Cradle Of Filth, Watain, Mayhem) Jef has mastered his songwriting, and guitar playing skills from inside the late night chaos of the professional music world. Originally hailing from New Jersey, Them Damn Kings is heavily influenced by Zakk Wylde, Randy Rhoads and Dimebag Darrel's guitar playing as well as Guns N' Roses, Alice in chains, Motorhead, Kyng and Soundgarden. Timeless modern hard rock. "I grew up listening to these guys, some of them I've been lucky enough to tour with and learn from. One of the thing's I've always loved about these bands is how raw and organic their music feels to me. I knew immediately, that's what I want to do, rock and roll is my life and thats what i want to play for the rest of my life." Recorded entirely by Jef in early 2016, the band’s first video and single ‘Yesterday’ showcases his songwriting and performing abilities. However, maybe more importantly, it foreshadows at just how powerful Them Damn Kings will be as a full time touring band. Jef has recently assembled a full band line up, and Them Damn Kings will begin performing in late October 2017. The band is also working on a full length album which is expected to be released in spring of 2018 The Official Them Damn Kings Facebook Page
