About this concert
Fancy sharing more space with Cog in 2024?  Following their acclaimed East Coast run earlier this year, the revered Australian rockers are proud to announce the continuation of The Vinyl Tour, with Cog set to close out 2024 taking their live show to regional Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia this October and November, as well as an appearance for Crowbar Sydney's birthday week.  As part of The Vinyl Tour Continued, Cog will kick off proceedings on Friday 4 October in Frankston, before heading to Torquay, Byron Bay, Bunbury, Margaret River and Fremantle, and will also jump up on the hallowed stage of Crowbar Sydney on Friday 29 November for the venue's inaugural birthday celebrations. Renowned as one of the country's consummate live acts, the tour will see Cog continue the celebrations of the long-awaited release of their seminal albums The New Normal (2005) and Sharing Space (2008) on vinyl for the first time ever, as well as the first pressing of their compilation record Just Visiting (2008). Cog will also be joined by some very special guests later this year, with The Sea Benz set to support in Frankston, Torquay and Byron Bay, Yomi Ship supporting in Bunbury and Margaret River, Yomi Ship and Primrose Path in Fremantle, and Hammers joined by The Sea Benz in Sydney.   "After the success of the initial shows early in the year we are stoked to add seven more shows to The Vinyl Tour continued." - Cog   Emerging in the late 90s, Cog's enduring legacy on the heavy music landscape has traversed decades, global touring and a jubilant reunion back in 2016. Via their early EPs, 2000's Pseudo and part one and part two of 2002's Just Visiting, the behemoth reputation of the Sydney-hailing trio would firmly cement in 2005 in the form of their debut full-length The New Normal. From here, Cog took the world by storm, relentlessly touring Australia, embarking on overseas runs, igniting stages at Big Day Out, Falls Festival and Homebake, alongside adding a stellar second album release to their repertoire in the form of the certified Gold 2008 opus Sharing Space.  Never ones to rest on their laurels, Cog emerged from a five year hiatus in 2016, with an entirely sold out comeback tour across Australia that same year - and some new music soon followed in 2018 via the band's first new material in a decade: The Middle. From here, Cog have continued to expand their creative spirit, releasing two additional singles, Altered States and Drawn Together, while also remaining active on the touring circuit, including headlining Thrashville and The Other Festival in 2023.  Reaching a milestone in 2023, Cog's long road to finally releasing their albums on vinyl spanned a 15 year uphill battle, with the group locked into a contract and awaiting resolution ever since delivering Sharing Space to their label in 2008. Now armed with complete ownership of the rights to all of their music, the pressing of Cog's sonic legacy onto vinyl also sparked a huge headline run earlier this year, with the trio's East Coast round of The Vinyl Tour in March wowing crowds in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Newcastle, Canberra and Sydney, with the majority of shows sold out.  Exclusively through Rare Records, The New Normal and Sharing Space are now available pressed on 3 x 180g vinyl, housed in deluxe triple gatefold sleeves, with a range of variants and vinyl combinations on offer.  Tickets for The Vinyl Tour Continued are on-sale now, do not miss this unforgettable run of shows from one of Australia's finest this October and November. We honour and acknowledge the Whadjuk Nyoongar people as Traditional Owners of the land on which we work and live. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging and recognise that the land and sovereignty has never been ceded.TICKETING INFO*18+ LICENSED SHOW - MINORS PERMITTED WITH A LEGAL GUARDIAN  SET TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGEPLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:When ticket sales have closed on the day of the show they may still be available at the door.Once purchased tickets are non-refundable & non-transferableA booking fee applies to all advance ticketsVENUE INFO:Photo ID is essential, acceptable ID is a current and valid Australian Photo Drivers Licence or PassportThe venue reserves the right to refuse admission to any person.Intoxicated persons will not be admitted.Dangerous behaviour including Crowd Surfing, Stage Diving, Moshing and Violent Dancing is not allowed and will result in your immediate removal from this venue.Inappropriate behaviour at this venue will lead to your banning.*Minors are permitted with a legal guardian. COG Biography

Hailing from Bondi, Sydney, Australia, Cog consists of members Flynn Gower (lead guitar, lead vocals), Lucius Borich (drums, samples, backing vocals) and Luke Gower (bass guitar and backing vocals), who have been a band since 1998.

Organic in the sense that Cog play their instruments, some people would say Cog's music resembles some sort of progressive rock that flows effortlessly from thick slabs of distorted guitars, twisting rhythms through to vast playgrounds of ambient organospace and back again. Not shy to incorporate sequencing and sampling to propagate more ideas in a live and recording environment, Cog feels this has opened the possibilities for more musical exploration.

2)
Cog (Philippines)
Cog's history starts in 1999, when guitarists Joel Patricio and Eric Perlas started writing riffs together. Vocalist Yagi Olaguera joined shortly after and the three began writing original material. A few months later, Alan Po, then drummer of funk band Wild Waters, joined upon hearing some of the songs. Bassist Richie Ramos rounded out the original band lineup, and Cog was up and running by the summer of 2000.

The band's first big break arrived when they had the chance to record for the No Seat Affair compilation. Of the two songs recorded for the release, "Drone", a mostly instrumental piece, was graced by saxophone lines from the band's friend and collaborator, Garon Honasan. Since then, he has formally joined the band.

Having survived possible disbanding and lineup changes, the band has been able to maintain their original lineup and continue to challenge themselves with their material. The band has released their first full-length album, Conflagration (following their Contact EP), and is currently playing gigs in and around Metro Manila. They have also appeared on television, and have played some of the larger local concert events. They are also one of the primary bands of the Tower of Doom record label.

Cog's music is hard to properly pin down in a genre, but all the members agree that "metal" should be in the basic decription. However, very diverse influences (from the 80's British Wave to classical music) can be heard in their sound.

3)
Cog (Croatia)
COG - CourseOverGround is a dynamic rock meets noise trio from Osijek, Croatia. They formed back in 1997 with an original lineup of Mario Majkic, Bojan Papic and Larson Benjamin Dijkgraaf. Current lineup has Antun Bilos on the drums, replacing Dijkgraaf.
