About this concert
sleepmakeswaves have announced they will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their acclaimed second album 'Love of Cartography' by performing the album in full on a national tour of Australia, supported by Japanese math-rockers LITE and British mathcore legends ROLO TOMASSI.Otto (guitarist) said:"Thinking back to 2014 it's easy to remember the good times. Sigur Ros appearing on Game of Thrones. Lost in the Dream by The War On Drugs. Pharrell Williams's big hat. But we'd be remiss not to acknowledge and celebrate something very close to our heart here at smw-corp: the release of our 2nd album Love of Cartography. To say this record changed the course of our lives would be an understatement: everything from our first successful crowdfunding campaign, our first time working with Nick DiDia at 301, our first J Award nomination, our first Live at the Wireless and our first time performing in China happened because of how this record connected with our fan base all around the world. So really it's a celebration of all of you. Our wonderful listeners and what this record might mean to you after all these years. We are so grateful to be able to celebrate its tenth anniversary with a very special tour around Australia, during which we will play the album from top to bottom. Joining us for this will be the incredible Rolo Tomassi from the UK (finally actually coming back to Australia after all the false starts of the pandemic) and the awesome LITE from Japan (coming to Australia for the first time ever). It would be around 10 years ago when our long-suffering manager Mike asked us to consider our 'bucket list' - the gold standard of experiences we'd love to achieve with sleepmakeswaves. Playing at the Sydney Opera House was something shared across every list, so it's with immense joy that we can announce we are crossing this off the list by bringing this special tour to a special venue. Next, we will focus on the remaining bucket list item: successfully completing the 'Hot Ones' challenge with Sean Evans.'See you in October. Let's f*cking go.sleepmakeswaves "Love of Cartography 10th anniversary tour"with special guests LITE & Rolo Tomassi
