About this concert
Living in Philly USA, working 12 hour days in the early 2010’s. Minimum wage customer service jobs and barely scraping by, playing punk and hardcore shows to remember why it’s worth being alive. DARK THOUGHTS live in the urgency of reality, but their Ramones-core three-chord punk tunes have hope in dreams of everything great that exists outside of a crushingly oppressive hamster-wheel; you forget about fighting to get another meal in the romance of all things good – I’m talking about being in love and punk music, of course!!DARK THOUGHTS entered the US hardcore punk scene as a pop-punk band rubbing shoulders with its counterparts such as THE MARKED MEN, SHEER MAG, THE COWBOYS, DIRTY FENCES, NANCY and RADIOACTIVITY. They play with the tough guys, but break through their hard exterior with an earnest emotional expression that makes you feel good while you get to mosh hard and have a straight-up raging time! After 10 years, three LPs and a bunch of tapes, DARK THOUGHTS are making their way to the Black Bear Lodge on Sat 31 August to play a killer show supported by local rockers The Unknowns, Liquid Face and Midgee - don’t miss them!

The Unknowns Biography

All three members of the Unknown were born in China during the early 90's. The three members grew up in the small ancient town of Wuzhen, North of Tongziang City. Here they found their friendship and eventually their deep interconnection of music. Living in an environment of abusive families and none stop work in the rice paddy fields, their music grew stronger. It was not until young adulthood when the three friends decided that in order for their music to be heard by normal people living in the 21st century, they would have to move to America. Even though leaving would ultimately starve their families by taking away a main supporter and worker of the paddy fields, they happily took the chance to follow their dreams. After a long escape, they ended up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. With nothing, they used their heartwarming story on the streets to be able to afford musical equipment. They currently practice together in a garage where they continue to chase the dreams of being a not-so-popular underground band. Drums-Andrew Brubaker/Guitar-Sean Cullen/Bass-Tom W Amey
