Vladimir (Violinist) Biography

Vladimir Jablokov started playing the violin aged five, making his stage debut at the tender age of ten. Coming from four generations of professional music makers, with a Russian maestro for a father and five musical siblings around him at home; Vladimir is steeped in the classical tradition.

Vladimir arrived in Ireland from Slovakia 18 years ago. Originally only planning to stay in Ireland for a few months; he soon found work and money hard to come by. Having little English, he quickly decided to let his music do the talking and started busking on Grafton Street. Getting a taste for live performance, he formed the Slovak Festival Quartet in 2006 with some friends.

Spotted by leading Irish label Rubyworks, Vladimir released his debut album – ‘Classical Twist’ – in 2011. A winning hybrid of classics, jazz and pop from Bach to Bowie.

With a growing reputation, Vladimir played some of Ireland’s most prestigious venues; including The Mansion House, The Gaiety Theatre, The Olympia Theatre, Marlay Park, Cork Opera House, Limerick UCH and Wexford Opera House. He is headlining sell-out concerts at the National Concert Hall in Dublin on regular basis.

He released his first Christmas album – ‘Vladimir’s Classical Christmas’ – in 2013, and toured Ireland again with special guests Claudia Boyle and Sean Costello, as well as the entire Jablokov musical family.

Now the talented Slovakian joins forces with his younger brother Anton, himself a dazzling violinist with a flair for daring improvisation, which showcases their almost telepathic skills as sibling musicians. The “Two Brothers” stage-show and forthcoming album celebrates popular classical music by the great composers mixed with well-known favourites from the stage and screen. Expect to hear evergreen compositions like “If I Were A Rich Man”, “Kalinka”, “Somewhere (fromWest Side Story)” and “Dark Is The Night”.

During his time in Ireland, Vladimir Jablokov has established himself as one of the brightest young stars on the Irish classical scene, with concerts and recordings that show his love of Viennese music, contemporary pop/crossover and the great heritage of Russian and Eastern European classical composers.
Apart from smaller concerts, Vladimir is now preparing his biggest production up to date to be staged at Dublin's 3Arena in December 2022.
