Fredrik Høyer

Hailing from the boondocks of Drammen, Oslo-based artist, poet and writer Fredrik Høyer has become a critically acclaimed, modern-age Norwegian jazz lyricist, collaborating with many of Norways top jazz musicians. 
 Besides being a published author of novels and poetry, with an background in theatre as an actor and a playwright, Fredrik Høyer came up in the spoken word scene in Oslo and Scandinavia during the 00’s. 
 Not quite a rapper, nor a traditional slam-poet, Høyer is a new breed of poet, vocalist and MC, which uses the percussive aspect of spoken language, the melodic nature of wordplay, along with DJ-equipment and electronic instruments the as a vocal artist. 
 In 2016 Fredrik Høyer debuted with the LP and poetry collection «Grønlandsūtraen» («The Greenland Sūtra»), with hip-hop producer Fredfades and jazz musician Kristoffer Eikrem. 
 In 2018, the first single from the electronic double album «Til alt ute» («Hymns for Everything Outsided») hit the streets. This is a collaboration with fellow Norwegian electronica-, techno- and jazz musician DJ Bendik Baksaas.
