John Meagher Biography
After nominations for the illustrious Hackney Empire New Act of The Year, Leicester Sq Theatre New Comedian of the Year awards, BBC New Comedy Award, and Irish Comedian of the Year; John Meagher is gaining a following for his sharp writing and performance skills all over the world.
Working at major clubs such as The World Famous Comedy Store, The Leicester Square Theatre London, Covent Garden Comedy, The Stand, Crown Jewels Comedy, Eminent Banter, Top Secret London, Glee, Komedia, and Backyard Comedy Club; John has been leaving audiences in stitches with his upbeat storytelling with big punchlines earning comparisons to comedians such as Billy Connolly, Dave Allen, and Tommy Tiernan.
With appearances on BBC, BBC Radio 4extra, TV3 Ireland, and hosting stints on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle London; there is an undeniable buzz around John. Ireland has produced some of the great stand up comedians, and John is on his way to add his to the list.
A recent run of John’s Debut show “Calm” sold out London’s famous “Bill Murray” Comedy Club, has led to a tour of the United States in March 2020, and is currently in development at BBC Studios.
