About this concert
It's Victoria's last public holiday till September and it's time to MILK IT! Australia notoriously enjoys 10 public holidays in the first half of the year before the end-of-year drought containing only 4. SO LETS MAKE IT COUNT! Last Chance is putting on a Kings Birthday Eve Extravaganza to commiserate the shackles of our colonial yolk. With the public holiday on the Monday, Melbourne's stalwart city hold-out of rock n roll is giving you one last hurrah on the SUNDAY NIGHT to make an absolute animal of yourself. SORDID ORDEAL will be headlining their first show since their album launch in February, playing a combination of rebel songs for Charlie himself and their stout rock bangers. They'll be joined by the ferocity of My Safe Word Is Murder, Adelaide garage rockers The Shadow Ministers down for Cherry Rock and the raucous, obscene fuzz blues of The Cigarrillos. Don't waste this three-day weekend, round your Kings Birthday Eve off at Last Chance and flip off the King. Doors 6pm, first band 6.30

Sordid Ordeal Biography

Sordid Ordeal are a colossal rock band from Naarm (Melbourne, Australia), a musical tour de force and foundation band of the Stout Rock genre. Their sound is an amalgamation of folkish story-telling & ballads with blistering, mangy rock and epic anthems. They weld together the abrasive & heavy with the gentle & intimate, creating an incendiary mix of subversion and hedonism.
Sordid released their first EP ‘Great Ocean Road’ at the beginning of 2020, right on the cusp of Australia’s Covid lockdowns and border closures, propelling the title single into a lockdown anthem and road trip favourite.
The band spent the Covid period recording their first and second albums and when restrictions lifted they embarked on two interstate east coast tours in preparation for the album release
Their debut album ‘When I Left Town’ was released in February 2024 and premiered on the Australian Independent Record charts at #8. Launched to a capacity crowd in Melbourne, the record drew critical acclaim from Triple M Radio, Heavy Mag and several other publications.
The band is now preparing to release their follow-up album ‘Nothing Was The Same Again’, due to be unleashed in October 2024
