Christian Sands debuted as a leader at our festival three years ago. He left in the Tickets to the belly an unforgettable and very inspiring master class (you know: concerts at the Conservatori have bonuses, master classes) and an exceptional concert. “He brings out a very special sound from the piano,” Ignasi Nogueras, the sound technician responsible for our concerts at the Conservatori, told us. Indeed, what is surprising is the maturity and strength of Sands' speech leading his trio, which draws on both the most canonical tradition (his tribute to Erroll Garner was highly celebrated) and contemporary sounds. He returns to Barcelona with new album, Embracing Dawn , defined as a "cinematic narrative of the stages of grief that reflects Sands' personal experience while offering a guide to healing and understanding for anyone who has experienced loss." . What a pleasure to be reunited with the elegant and exquisite piano of Christian Sands.
