This is only my 2nd or 2rd time seeing them, but it definitely won't be my last. They pull you in until you almost feel part of the show, and if you listen closely you might just learn something from the lyrics. And the beat? The music itself? A dash of rock, a hint of reggae, and always the funk. You can get up and full-on dance or you can just bounce in your seat, but I guarantee you will move. Sitting still is not an option with them.

Life, Explicit Biography
Life, Explicit is a funk band from Memphis, TN. The group pays homage to the rich musical heritage of Stax and Hi Records, while drawing a line through the influences of the past to the rock, funk, hip-hop, and soul players of today. Consisting of vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, percussion, and horns, Life, Explicit is made up of members from a large, multicultural background, with each member contributing their own unique style to form an exciting and soulful brand of funk.
Life, Explicit has consistently had a large presence in and around the Memphis area. In addition to supporting national award winning, billboard charting hip hop artists like Tyke T, Life, Explicit has been included as a featured artist in the YouTube series "Jam in the Van", played for the 10th anniversary of the "I Love Memphis" blog, and actively participates in the export Memphis music program that arranges shows all around the world.
