Kazi Biography

After emphatically emerging onto the DMV music scene with his first hit single, “She Bad”, Kid Kazi is poised to go major with his blazing new hit, “Epitome”.

2008 has been a breakthrough year for Kazi. In this past year, Kazi has established himself as one of, if not, the most prominent unsigned hip-hop artist in the DMV. “All I’ve been doing is grindin. Making songs. Meeting new people. Sleeping in the studio. That’s how much I wanted to give myself that buzz I wanted.” Kazi has also worked to put on for his group, the Yung Ballaz, which includes him and two other rising stars, Milli and Dee. Their chemistry in the studio has allowed each to flourish and develop a multiplying fan base, thanks to the songs they’ve released. For example, the Ashanti-sampled “Rescue Me” is an ultra-smooth track that no ears could resist, while “Money” is a banger further exposing their signature sound and star power.

Capitalizing off that buzz, Kazi has re-focused himself on taking his solo career to the major level. The aforementioned “She Bad” was a great start, to say the least. “I felt like it was a song that I could just throw out there to let everyone know that I was on the scene. I really didn’t expect to get the response I got, but I’m not complaining! It’s still being played down in Atlanta and even Cali, from what I’m told.” “She Bad” is a catchy track for listeners to recognize his amazing wordplay. “Once it played (on the radio), I knew from there that I would have to keep comin with hits.”

As hot as “She Bad” is, Kazi has managed to pull off something very few major hip-hop artists can claim: releasing a follow-up even more explosive than the first. A track tailor-made and ready to top the charts, “Epitome” needs little introduction as the song speaks for itself. “I know ‘Epitome’ is gonna be a hit, just cuz of the simple fact that it’s not like any other song out there. You can categorize it in many genres… hip-hop, R&B, pop, techno, etc.” To top it off, Kazi is set to soon release the remix, which will feature Tyga (of Lil Wayne’s Young Money label). “All I can tell you about the remix is to make sure you have clear speakers so you can listen to every word that is spoken. I think I’ll give that to the fans for Christmas, lol. But don’t think he’s gonna be the only one killin stuff. I got some other artists that will have people like ‘How in the world did he get him on a track?’ Just be patient people and I might give y’all an early present, lol.”

Kazi is on the verge of making his own mark in the ever-evolving genre that is hip-hop. If “Epitome” is any indication, then it’s safe to expect smash hits to come from Kazi with regularity.
