Holy Smoke Biography
Centered in Philadelphia, Holy Smoke is a hard hitting, heavy groove rock band with a sound best described as a rolling wave of thick smoke that hits you like a freight train, leaving you dazed but not confused and with a head full of a sense of something huge and a belly full of tasty riffs.
Following a brief stint in 2013 in Plantation, guitarist Brian Schmidt started Holy Smoke in early 2014. After jamming with multiple guitarists, drummers, bassists and singers over the course of the next year, a first lineup was solidified at the first full practice on January 11th, 2015 consisting of guitarist Justin Ulrich, drummer Aaron Morgan, bassist Chris Urban, and vocalist Silas Boyd. A handful of shows were played in the summer of 2015, but through circumstances beyond control, a new lineup was eventually needed. In March of 2016, a new lineup was completed with David McNally on vocals and Mike Forte on bass.
