After seeing Aswad in the 1980s I have been attending live Aswad events regularly again since 2016. This was the 3rd time at the Jazz Cafe and the first since Drummie’s passing. The band were amazing as usual, the atmosphere was great and the night was great.

Aswad ("Black" in Arabic) are a long lasting British reggae group, that is noted for adding strong R&B and soul influences to the reggae sound. They have been performing since the early 1970s, having released a total of 21 albums.
