Antonio Flinta Quartet Biography
Antonio Flinta has a strong reputation in Europe for his recordings, performances, and the inventive music that he has created with his trios and quartets. Secrets Of A Kiri Tree, his very first solo piano album, puts the focus on his impressive playing as he interprets originals and standards in his own unique style. Peripheral Songs is the second piano solo album from the same recording session.
Pianist, composer and educator born in Chile, studied in Madrid at the Taller de Musicos and at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Settling in Rome in 1990, Flinta freelanced for a time and then in 1993 formed a trio that lasts until today and recorded five CDs. In 2008 the group became a quartet recording five more albums.
With his trio and quartet, Flinta has toured extensively, performing at jazz festivals, theaters and clubs on four continents (China, Finland, Romania, Guatemala, Morocco, Russia, Turkey, Venezuela, Norway, Germany, Bulgaria, Tunisia…)
