Negative Space Biography
There are two artists named Negative Space:
1) Negative Space was a psychedelic rock band who released an album Hard, Heavy, Mean and Evil in 1970. Only 500 copies were pressed, and the album was out of print until a compilation was released on CD in 2000 by Monster Records. The Living Dead Years includes the entire 1970 album, non-LP cuts and material from the post-Negative Space outfit Snow. Their sound had been described as "dark heavy fuzzed basement psych" and has drawn comparisons to bands such as Steppenwolf.
2) Negative Space is a Lancaster-based quintet that has emerged as one of the region's most powerful modern rock bands. Their independent spirit, touch of punk, and mainstream appeal has generated a constant stream of attention from listeners and the record industry alike, crossing over to audiences of all kinds. On top of being one of the region's most long-lasting and respected talents, Negative Space has proved more than buzz-worthy through relentless, energetic shows, all over the east coast.
Since this lineup started working together, Lancaster, Pennsylvania's Negative Space has been touring nonstop, playing over 800 shows from Key West, Florida to Killington, Vermont, and all points in between. They have opened for national recording artists such as 3 Doors Down, Eve 6, Fuel, Lit, Bowling For Soup, Social Burn, Seether, Sevendust, Breaking Benjamin, and RA, and have showcased at the legendary CBGB's as well.
