About this concert
QM 1 Year Anniversary: Young & Free
And just like that, QM turns 1 year.
This past year, of 10 QM parties, flew by like one month. From the sinuous roads of the Bairro Alto that lead to Purex, where the first QM took place. Then to Micro Music Club in LX Factory, Palms in Caparica, Gala CriCri in Beato, Higher Ground in Prior Velho and NAV in Campo Pequeno.
A rollercoaster of emotions, underground music and absolute bliss. A sense of freedom; freedom of being, freedom of music, freedom of sexuality, freedom of expression, and freedom of love. All of this was what QM was all about, and forever will continue to be about.
This is our House, and we’re proud of it!
Proper celebrations calls for proper actions. On the lineup and from Berlin, coming (almost!) straight from Panorama Bar to QM (and debuting in Lisbon too!) is Maze. 1/2 of duo Maze&Master, who performed at Horse Meat Disco and the iconic He She They. It’s a pleasure to have her with us.
On opening duties, the return of someone we cherish with all of our hearts, DIADIADIA. Disco maniac and one of QM's closest friends.
And as you know, you’re two QM residents AZM & Kemetic as masters of ceremony:
AZM, the big guy that needs no introduction anymore, setting the floor on lava and ecstacy with his sexy and chunky house beats.
Kemetic, also celebrating his birthday with QM and making this celebration even more special. A trip down euphoria lane, back 90s ecstatic piano house. An ode to the freedom of the night.
And because our queers need their queens of the night, Mary Poppers is back, with her sassy attitude to die for, and kindness like no other. Tandy 3000, the creative one, never exhausted and dancing forever. And for the first time at QM, Black Mamba, the glamorous survivor.
This night is not to be missed. We got two reasons to celebrate. And it wouldn't mean anything without YOU.
In the words of the immortal Prince, "let’s get crazy, let's get nuts"... And long live QM.

The entire show was utterly amazing. From beginning to end. So happy that I finally got to see Frankie Beverly before he retired.

Maze Biography
Soul / quiet storm band Maze was established in San Francisco in the early 1970's. The band can more or less be considered as the project of former The Butlers, and later Raw Soul, member Frankie Beverly; being songwriter, producer, arranger, singer, keyboardist and guitarist.
Frankie Beverly's smooth, distinct voice is instantly recognized, and Maze's laid-back, bass driven musical arrangements differ a lot from other soul acts. Their signature sound is especially vivid on the classic "Live in New Orleans."
Maze signed a contract with Capitol Records in 1976, and released their debut LP, "Maze featuring Frankie Beverly", in 1977. They had great success with the debut and the following albums "Golden Time of Day" (1978), "Inspiration" (1979) and "Joy and Pain" (1980).
Their most acclaimed recording is "Live in New Orleans" (three quarters of which was recorded at the Saenger Theatre November 14-15, 1980). By now the band had a reputation as one of the best live acts in American soul music, also enjoying a great following in United Kingdom. In 1989, they released the hit album "Silky Soul", the excellent "Back to Basics" album in 1993, and a live recording at London's Hammersmith Odeon in 1994. In October 2005 Maze finished a U.S. tour.
