About this concert
Moes Alley presents a garage rock, rock n roll adrenaline rush with Wine Lips and special guests The Macks and The Scalps plus DJ Archive 65!Wednesday, May 22ndDoors: 7pm / Show: 8pm$17 in advance / $22 day of the show21+WINE LIPSOriginally formed in Toronto back in 2015 as a part-time project between Cam Hilborn (vox, songwriter, guitar) and drummer extraordinaire Aurora Evans, Wine Lips quickly escalated into a full-blown, full-time, full-on international phenomenon. Their debut album took them across North America followed immediately by an intensive and unexpected tour of Hong Kong and China in 2018. They released their massive Stressor album the very next year (2019) to rave reviews and massive critical acclaim. Multiple tracks from Stressor charted across North America and Europe radio, while several songs ended up being featured in broadcast and Netflix series. Endless touring ensued. The new record Super Mega Ultra is an absolute beast. Recorded by Simon Larochette at The Sugar Shack in Ontario, the album is jam-packed with 12 ramped-up supersonic ear-scorching auditor delicacies. SMU is probably Wine Lips most ambitious undertaking to date, exploring new thematic territory while firmly maintaining their signature psych garage punk rock panache. You truly need to hear the album to believe it And if you havent already guessed, more endless touring is booked for 2024. The wild ride continues!THE MACKSAll the identity and none of the crisis! The Macks are in their own pocket. Your DIY wet dream are hardened road warriors and goblins of their basement studio. A Macks set is a sonic-fucking-circus. Virile and award-winning like a show horse, they are turning heads around the country and internationally through the airwaves and their touring roadshow. The Macks are brothers Josef and Ben Windheim, Sam Fulwiler, Jacob Michael Perris, and Aidan Harrison. In 2022, the band came out with their lockdown project Rabbit, a raw and progressive take on rock and roll that launched them towards festivals and tours from Idaho to Mexico City. And just months later, the band followed it up with Dajiban, building on the creative successes of Rabbit and driving the band into more expansive, catchy, gnarly, and unmistakably Macks territory. Now, the band is sharpening their edges as they prepare to launch a new record in 2024 - pungent, pointed, and powerful, the upcoming release contains the bands most realized work to date. THE SCALPSThe Scalps were formed in Salinas, CA by Reverend Stephan Sams (previously of The Redlight District.) He met up with Christopher Melville Lyman (of progressive doom band Turn Me on Dead Man) and an old friend, Clouds (of avante-garde noise rock band The Microclouds) and the power trio was deemed complete.
