About The Plainsmen

With members of the band strewn from Emporia, KS to Ft. Worth, TX, The Plainsmen bring to the listener a brand of music as unique and as diverse as the landscapes they call home. With lyrics that tell the tales of life and loss - love and dreams - heartaches and highways - and music that backs up every story with tasteful rhythm guitar, melodic leads, and solid & steady bass and drums, you will easily find yourself walking the back roads in the boots of these wanderers of the Great Plains.

The year is 2006. The place is Wann, Oklahoma. The original members of The Plainsmen make their debut in true Midwest fashion - on the platform of a stolen gooseneck trailer. Years of performing from Montana to Missouri and everywhere in between have made seasoned players out of these hard working musicians. Though the lineup has changed from the original group, the four current members hold true to the duty of writing, recording, and performing real, honest music that relates to the common man – or lady.

The Plainsmen create a brand of music that is all their own. The musical backgrounds and interests of the players vary as much as their zip codes. The result is a smooth groovin’ and hard rockin’ blend of traditional country music, Americana – singer/songwriter ballads, and a little bit of southern rock and blues. Their debut album, What Started the Fire, and their newest release, No One Else Around, showcase the best of what The Plainsmen have to offer. Thanks to the production efforts of Mike McClure and Joe Hardy, the albums have a truly professional quality of sound and great consistency from track to track.
