Tommy Castro

What a great venue for such a wonderful entertainer! Tommy and the gang kept me dancing all night long, and they played most all of my favorites. Ben Rice, who opened the show for Tommy, was amazing and did not disappoint.

Well as everyone knows, Tommy Castro & The Pain Killers never disappoint. And I always have a great time. Sometimes the venue makes it even better. The Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley CA. Is One of The Beat places to see live music in the North Bay. Seriously. Thank you Sweetwater and thank you TC & the painkillers. I had a blast.

Spectacular! We’ve been following Tommy for 30 years now. His energy and stage presence is electric along with the whole band crew. The keys, drums, bass, sax and of course Tommy was phenomenal. Everyone loved the show. The place was rocking, music was exceptional along with everyone’s performance. Servers were friendly with great service. We Love you Tommy

I’ve had the unique privilege to watch Tommy Castro go from being a handsome front man who played guitar and would come into my place on Wednesday afternoons to “steal licks from Ron Thompson” to what he is today: A Four-time B.B. King Entertainer of the Year award-winner. A genuine entertainer has command. Command of his/her instruments, command of his/her band, resulting in command of his/her audience. Tommy checks off everything on the list. He hasn’t lost a note in his soulful voice, and his command of the guitar has developed to a master-level, employing a total of five guitars in the show on Sunday, (In a huge nod to Ron Thompson, he brought out his Resonator during a second act acoustic set.) and even left his signature Castrocaster by Delaney at home. He knew his audience, too, in playing a lot of songs from his prodigious catalog that don’t make the cut a lot of times. (“Blues Prisoner” was a highlight) Castro; phenomenal. The Painkillers; extraordinary. And yes, he’s still handsome.

Tommy Castro and his whole band continue to be amazing performers, what an awesome show! I would see them anytime, anywhere. Jimmys Jazz and Blues Club is a beautiful intimate venue but the downside is there’s nowhere at all to dance, which is tough with a band like Tommy Castros!

I e been going to Tommy’s shows since 1997. He never disappoints. Proud to say he’s a friend of mine as well. The band was as tight as ever, sounded amazing and they really rocked it the entire night. The opening act was really good too. Great seeing Tommy and the band, hoping he will make it back to Indy sooner then later. Thanks for the song dedication, that made my night.

Nice concert in the park kind of atmosphere for a Saturday afternoon. Ives Park seems located right in the middle of residential area - with a swimming pool. The majority of parking spaces directly around the perimeter seems to be tagged with a No Parking Police Will Tow sign with June 3rd and 4th mentioned. I was told these spaces were for the bands. No one seemed to get towed...Tommy Castro and band did a great job!

What a fabulous night ... Tommy changed it up , played an acoustic set.... Brought out surprise guests ... Deanna Bogart played piano, brought out her sax, joined with the trumpet player from Roomful of Blues ... They blew the roof off, with the 2 of them dueling Tommy with solos and finished up with a wild Sex Machine .... Don't miss a Tommy Castro Show !!!!

The concert time was listed in several places at 7 PM, but didn’t start till after 8 PM. Nobody came out during the hour delay to announce the problem and so everybody was just waiting. Then the announcer and host were long-winded and dull, endlessly repeating endorsements for their programs and websites, ad nauseam, adding to the delay and frustration. An extra long break in between sets was another frustration. When they did play, the band were good, but it didn’t make up for all of the poor organization and facilitation.

Tommy and the Painkillers always deliver a topnotch show. I liked the Fulton 55 had tables back far enough for us to dance. You need to be in line at least 30 to 45 minutes before the doors open to secure a table. Tommy was very nicely dressed! Beautiful jacket with a rose on a lapel and smashing boots. He took off jacket later in show. Black t-shirt now, and more of a rocker. We love this band, and we look forward to seeing them on the HAL Koningsdam for #39 Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise.

Man that was the most fun I had at a Tommy Castro show in years. Tommy brought out some guest appearances by some old friends that played guitar with him. And the big highlight was Keith Crossant being there to bring back his sax playing with TCB. Like old times. Also drummer Bowen Browns son sitting in on the drum kit for a song. It was definitely a party that I won’t forget. Tommy is a magician if you ask me. He recreates himself every year as he ages. Shows no sign of slowing down. Don’t ever pass up a chance to see Tommy Castro and the Painkillers. Also Sweetwater Music Hall did a fantastic job of hosting. That was the best Saturday night I have had in years.

Tommy took the stage a bit later than I expected. The crowd all the sudden swelled to really big status. People must have heard and waited out the day to show up and party with The Painkillers. They were exceptional as usual. Played some songs I had not heard him play in quite a while. Like I always say, Tommy never disappoints. I personally had a kick ass time and from the looks of it so did everyone else.

I can’t say enough what a great day this was! Tommy and his band were, of course, off the hook, and they kept me on the dance floor practically the entire time! The venue was was great as well, organized parking, great volunteers, and the bbq oysters were amazing! My 11 year old grandson had a wonderful time as well with all the kids activities. Always a great day when I can come hear Tommy and the Painkillers. I’ve been a fan of theirs for over 15 years (wish I would’ve known about them even earlier) and they keep getting better and better every time I hear them.

A great evening with a consummate showman and his longtime band mates. Deanna Bogart had to cancel, so Tommy Castro brought local blues master Tommy Z to the stage for a few tunes. It’s good to see the Tralf reopened and hosting national acts again. The sound was impeccable.

Tommy Castro & The Painkillers were fantastic!! Great job of blending newer song and older songs. Tommy is very interactive with the audience and everyone responded! If you have a chance, go see TC & TPC, do it. It’s a great night!!

Awesome show !!!!. What great musicans!!!!! Had to get another CD. Make it appoint to see them every year they are near. Wish they would come around more than once a year!!!!!! They really get the crowd rockin'.

Two of my favorite blues rock artists together in one show. They are both amazing guitarists and were both were spot on Friday night. The only negative was that the venue sectioned off about 75% for chairs and didn't leave much for general admission. We were crammed way over to the far left side. Who wants to sit at a concert like that?!

Tommy Castro is a world-class blues artists he always delivers the goods I need the best people at Tommy Castro concerts I've never had a bad experience at a Tommy Castro show I've been to over 50 Tommy Castro shows and I would recommend it to all ages

Tommy Castro brought his "Chicago" blues sound to Building 24 in Wyomissing, PA. If I could have seen him in another venue I probably could have given him and his band a five star rating. He had the joint jumping from start to finish and he turned out to be a very humble guy while meeting his fans and signing CDs.
