Carolyn Biography
Carolyn Snodgress is a pop singer/songwriter born and raised in sunny Redondo Beach, California, now living in Music City, Nashville, Tennessee. Her music has been described as light, melodic, uplifting and catchy. She’s constantly inspired by her surroundings; the beach, the waves, the salty air, and overall good vibes.
Carolyn released her debut album, Vibes, on December 12, 2014. The album was recorded at Akadak Music Studios in Burbank, California with producer, Randy Mitchell. Carolyn states, “I truly believe in the power and influence of our surroundings. I named my album Vibes because I wanted to spread ‘vibes’ that listeners can relate to and that will help them find some sort of peace and internal realization.” Carolyn will be playing songs from the record in local venues in Southern California before starting a small promotional tour in Nashville, Tennessee.
Carolyn has been writing and performing since she was 14. She’s played in a variety of venues from Hey 19 Public House in Torrance, California to The Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. She notes, “with a stressful schedule growing up, I found true serenity through music. Writing was and still is my release.” In 2012, Carolyn released her first EP, Believe. This first studio experience sparked a passion that kept her writing for the next project.
After getting accepted into the Music Business and Songwriting programs at Belmont University, Carolyn packed up and moved to Nashville, Tennessee. Now a Nashville transplant, an entirely new environment influences her. Her singing and songwriting skills are continuously blossoming through the competitive nature of this industry town. Carolyn loves the atmosphere and remarks, “I am constantly motivated by the incredible writing talent thriving in Nashville. Every writer’s round brings up new ideas for me to write about and different ways to tackle a song.”
