Rocketsmith Biography

Question…
What do you get if you cross…. a farmer, an e-commerce guy, a tiler, a highways consultant and 25 years of adulting?

Answer…
Rocketsmith’s brand of ‘Real Life’ rock music.

If you’re human, you’ll know that life will serve up some good times, while throwing in plenty of curveballs.

The same as most people just like you, the guys in Rocketsmith have experienced plenty of the ups, and probably more than their fair share of the downs, choosing to turn those experiences into catchy tunes which most of the adult population can relate to in some way.

Songs about all the emotions.

Song about winning at life and losing at life.

Songs about their mental health challenges, and the subsequent fightback.

Songs about financial hardships.

Songs about relationship challenges.

Songs about the birth of loved ones, and losing loved ones.

In short - songs about Real Life.

The Backstory
Often compared sonically to Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers, Foo Fighters and Jimmy Eat World, the Yorkshire-based lads are carving out their own place in the music world, with their brand of uplifting, catchy, happy-go-lucky tunes.

Andy Warriner founded Rocketsmith almost 15 years ago as an outlet for the stories he found himself penning. At this point, the rest of the line-up were all occupied in various other musical projects across Yorkshire.

Across the many years, the band took many forms before settling into the best line-up yet. Between the lads they’ve penned over 50 original songs, played thousands of gigs from the UK to China, USA, Norway etc - ranging from small local music venues to big festivals with crowds in the thousands. Specifially they supported Bryan Adams as part of the ForestLive series of events in the UK.

After a year writing & recording with producer Dave Boothroyd (6dB Studios, York), the lads are raring to go as they embark upon a comprehensive list of releases in the coming 18 months.
