About this concert
Featuring Vince Gill, Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, Sister Sadie, Larry Cordle & Lonesome Standard Time, Hawktail, Michael Cleveland, The Traveling McCourys, Jason Carter, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes, Stuart Duncan, Darol Anger, and more to come!Renowned fiddler Glen Duncan, a 40-year AFM 257 member who has played with everyone from Bill Monroe to Reba McIntyre, suffered a major stroke and car accident in December and was hospitalized for more than a month. He has returned home and being cared for by his devoted wife Marsha. This tragedy has been devastating for the Duncan family on many levels, and Glen needs 24/7 care, which has created a major financial burden. This concert will feature many of Nashvilles finest fiddlers, bluegrass and country artists, and will be a night to remember. Music City takes care of its own, and this will be a wonderful opportunity to help one of our iconic musicians and favorite people as he continues to recover from this dreadful series of events. Thanks in advance for your help!

Darol Anger Biography

Violinist, fiddler, composer, producer and educator. With the jazz-oriented Turtle Island String Quartet, Darol Anger developed and popularized new techniques for playing contemporary music styles on string instruments. The virtuosic Chambergrass groups Darol Anger's Republic Of Strings, Psychograss, and the long-lived Anger-Marshall Duo feature his compositions and arrangements. His Grammy-nomimated folk-jazz group Montreux was the original musical model for the New Adult Contemporary radio format.
He has worked with some of the world's great improvising string musicians, among them Stephane Grappelli, David Grisman, Tony Rice, Mark O'Connor, Mike Block, Grant Gordy, Bryan Sutton, Bela Fleck, Bruce Molsky and Vassar Clements.
Anger's main project is his group Mr Sun, which features virtuoso string players Grant Gordy, Joe K. Walsh, & Aidan O'Donnell.
His bands The Furies, The Republic Of Strings, along with the vocal group Anonymous 4, pianist Phillip Aaberg, the original David Grisman Quintet, and The DUO with multi-string virtuoso Mike Marshall have helped change the face of acoustic string music over much of the last 40 years. He is a Professor Emeritus at Berklee and runs his own online Fiddle School at Artistwokrs.com. He often appears as a guest with a wide array of modern music ensembles.
