Outerloop Biography

Outerloop is a post-punk band from Washington D.C., led by bilingual powerhouse vocalist Taisha Estrada and idiosyncratic electric guitarist Don Potter. Known for their high-energy live shows and angular songwriting, the band has been featured by the Washington Post and NPR Music, and has been selected for festivals and concert series such as Macrock, Tiny Desk on the Road, Fort Reno, Distrito Music Fest and the DC Library Rooftop shows. The band released an EP and an LP in 2022 and their song "Just Behave" won the 2023 Washington D.C. area music award (Wammie) for 'best hard rock/punk song'. Outerloop wear their politics on their sleeve and have performed benefit shows for causes such as immigrant rights, reproductive access and food security.

The band recently contributed a Slant-6 cover to the new Dischord Records cover compilation “Yesterday and Today: D.C. does Dischord” alongside new recordings from Teen Mortgage, the Dismemberment Plan and Ted Leo. Outerloop are releasing “EP 02” on June 21st, followed by a weeklong joint tour with XK Scenario through North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C. and Maryland, with a hometown EP release show at Comet Ping Pong on Saturday, June 29th, where the lineup will be rounded out by Spring Silver.
