SOFT LAD Biography
SOFT LAD (aka Sophie Galpin) is no stranger to the music scene, having been either touring or in the studio for most of her adult life. As a musician, she is a multi-instrumentalist for SELF ESTEEM and SOAK, and previously has worked with the likes of Jessie Ware, Becky Hill, Charli XCX, James Vincent McMorrow and The Breeders. Now she has made her way to the front of the stage with her own heartfelt pop songs, releasing her debut EP ‘Maximum Feels’ in 2022. As the title suggests, the record is all about experiencing your feelings deeply. ‘It’s missed connections, unfulfilled potential, love, loss - all those things you feel anything strongly, if only for a minute’, she explains. Musically she is inspired by the 90s pop of her youth - think Eternal, The Spice Girls and Destiny’s Child, but her songs nod to indie sensibilities such as guitar solos and soaring singalong choruses.

Featured in PRS M Magazine, The Times (Breaking Act), Dork, Clash, Hot Press, When The Horn Blows, Still Listening, DIVA Magazine, The Rodeo Mag, Highwire Magazine
