Zimmer Grandioso Biography
All the young dudes from sweden
With 90's indie and alternative rock as a stable foundation, Gothenburg-based Zimmer Grandioso manages to float between, and find inspiration in, several different genres, eras and expressions. Pop, rock and slacker, not to mention real rock n roll sax and carefully selected (but significant) touches of Jethro Tull flutes. That listeners hear influences such as The Magnetic Fields, Daniel Romano, Twin Peaks and others is obvious, but beneath the surface there’s more to be discovered.
The songs are simple but well thought out. They’re melodious but edgy at the same time. It's indie and alternative, and Zimmer Grandioso works just as well at the pre-party and in the clubs as they do in the wee hours. The first EP Zimmer Style II was released in September 2023 and is intelligently followed up with Zimmer Style IV in May 2024, with the single famous chinese short stories taking the lead.
Not all bands are formed around music. It may be a bit diffuse, but starting a band based on the feeling "I wish this day would never end" is done far too rarely. It’s not for nothing that Zimmer Grandioso was formed during a rare, really good Swedish summer day.
