Sigrid Moldestad

Sigrid Moldestad is one of Norways most celebrated folk-artists. Her latest album won “Album of the year” 2014 by Norwegian Broadcasting radioprogramme “Norsk-på-Norsk” ( Albums of any genre in Norwegian language). Since her solodebut in 2007 she has released 4 albums, which all have given her new audience and great reviews! Sigrid Moldestad embraced folkmusic and the fiddle in early ages. She has learned from fiddlers in her homevillage and is a proud caretaker of her folkmusictraditions from Breim and Nordfjord in particular. Growing up in a family with singing and playing she was drawn to the stage already as a child. Her musical path has been rooted in folkmusic, through singing, cabarets and theatre, always with a unique apperance on stage and strong stories to tell.
