Sick Like You Biography
Hailing from Hazel Park MI, Sick Like You burst onto the Detroit music scene in the spring of 23. Influenced by legendary punk acts like Operation Ivy, Rancid, Choking Victim, NOFX, Nomeansno and the Distillers — to name a few — their self-proclaimed “punkish” sound is a fusion of aggressive riffs, driving drum beats, and gritty vocals that capture the essence of the genre.
Formed in the fall of 22 by bassist Drew Leopardi and vocalist Cindi Lou, the two jammed for several months before adding drummer Scott Rogers and guitarist Jake Roberts to the roster.
With a complete lineup, the band wasted no time in rolling up their sleeves and getting down to business. Combining the influences of their punk idols with their own innovative twist, SLY worked with Tuxedo Ave studios to complete their five song debut, self-titled demo EP in the fall of 23.
With their debut EP, explosive live performances and infectious energy, SLY quickly gained a dedicated following in the local punk scene, playing popular Detroit venues, festivals and parties.
Building on this success, the band is currently working on new music. Determined to capture the feel of their live performances, they will return to the studio with three new high-energy recordings set to release in the fall of 24. Stay tuned & stay sick!
