Flashback to May of 2001, Secret Psychedelica, the first and only psytrance night in the Silicon Valley, was introduced and continued on a 6 year run before switching to one-off events at various venues around the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2020, Secret Psychedelica switched to a weekly online streaming format featuring not only local psychedelic trance DJs but also highly respected producers from around the world. The following year, Secret Psychedelica found a new home at the DNA Lounge and has been showcasing top notch psytrance artists every month for the past three years now. To help celebrate this special occasion, Dribble and Spec have been rounded up to lead a herd of Taurus DJs for a psychedelic stampede of maximum proportions! Dribble is the psychedelic trance project of music producer Amer Badi. Amer got his start in the music scene as part of the well known progressive metal band, Animate Experience. Through years of writing and performing with the group, Amer began to experiment with diverse music styles and put more thought into the intricacies of studio production with direct correlation to live performances. In 2014, he took his knowledge into the realm of electronic music and thus, Dribble came to existence. Because the electronic music market was already saturated with artists, Amer set forth to make Dribble stand out with intentions of accessing the rejuvenating and serene states of mind through sound and rhythm. His unmistakable tracks feature heavy polyrhythmic pattern leads blanketed by eerie ambiance while driven by hypnotic bass lines and can be found on labels such as Looney Moon Records, Bom Shanka Music, and PsyOpticz Records. Get ready for a wild ride when Dribble returns to Secret Psychedelica to make the dance floor bounce! Spec is the psytrance alter ego of John Matthew. John fell in love with the interesting sounds of electronic music at an early age but was also keen to other styles of music. His influences from jazz, classical, and even rap is evident in his uniquely intelligent and groovy styled sets. When it came time to produce, John created the Spec identity. After releasing two albums, Spec joined up with Shiva Valley Records in 2012 and represented the label’s energetic full-on psytrance sound. During this time, Spec performed at various parties around the world sharing stages with Ajja, Dickster, Tristan, and many others. Spec now calls Zero1 Music home and has been a part of its growth and establishment on the front-lines of cutting edge music. Returning from the Taurus 2022 lineup will be DJ Zach Tyler and Cascino bringing the more progressive side of psytrance. Secret Psychedelica residents Synwrks and Michael Liu will get the psytrance room started. The second room will be hosted by local drum & bass crew, Rhythmic Remedies, presenting an all Taurus lineup of junglists featuring Ada Lovebass, Bigmaxxx, Olly, Ross B, and 626.
