Loma Prieta is an Bay Area hardcore punk band that’s been making waves since 2005. Fitting for a band who’s name came from the infamous 1989 San Francisco earthquake, their music is dark, loud and violent with an outpouring of emotion.
Drought pulls inspiration from their personal lives and the spaces they inhabit, harkening back to the intimate DIY spaces where communities are built and confessional songwriting meets crowds that take part in their emotional catharsis. The Oakland quintet has a sound that features both screamo and post hardcore along with intense lyrics that explore the struggles of loss and the rites of adulthood in increasingly precarious times.
