About this concert
The State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine is thrilled to announce its upcoming performance of the full-length ballet Sleeping Beauty in three acts at the historic Ulster Performing Arts Center. The show will take place on November 8th, 2024, at 7:30 pm and feature the enchanting music of Piotr Tchaikovsky. Sleeping Beauty tells the story of Princess Aurora, who is cursed by the evil fairy Carabosse. On her 16th birthday, Aurora pricks her finger and falls into a deep sleep that will last for 100 years. Only true love's kiss from a prince can break the spell and awaken the sleeping beauty. This production of Sleeping Beauty is a stunning masterpiece of classical style, often earning praise from critics as a master class in the genre. It features some of the most iconic dance sequences from the 19th century repertoire. The ballets visuals are equally impressive with lavish sets and costumes that bring the story to life.

The Sleeping Beauty Biography
A duo of Midori Tamura (sax, accordion, vocals) and Shion Tamura (piano, keyboards), based in Tokyo, Japan. They have released “no sound and no silence,” “liv,” “auguries,” and “empty playground,” which have been long sellers at museum shops and boutique stores.
After the concert at Hara Museum Tokyo in 2009, they have been playing at various cafes and galleries. In 2018, a song from “auguries” was selected by Ryuichi Sakamoto’s playlist for a restaurant in New York. In January 2021, they played again at Hara Museum in their online event “Hara X: Touched by Light — the sleeping beauty and Moeka Shiotsuka.”
