25 Jahre Afrob Jubiläumstour 2024 Ziemlich genau 25 Jahre ist es her, dass Afrob die deutsche Rap-Szene aus den Angeln gehoben hat. Nun geht er nach einem viertel Jahrhundert Deutschrap auf grosse Jubiläumstour! Im März 1999 erschien «Reimemonster», die erste Single aus seinem Debütalbum «Rolle mit HipHop», und sie war auch genau das: ein Monstertrack. Was folgte war eine Karriere, die ihresgleichen sucht: Zehn Studioalben – wenn man die beiden Kollaboplatten mit Samy Deluxe unter dem Namen ASD dazuzählt – und ein Vierteljahrhundert Realness kann der Godfather of Deutschrap nachweisen. Seit 25 Jahren steht Afrob auf der Bühne und repräsentiert HipHop immer noch wie am ersten Tag. Er hat die Geschichte des Games mitgeprägt und ist immer offen für neue Sounds. Er ist soulig, er ist dreckig, meinungsstark und tolerant, engagiert und relaxt, ernst und komisch, zurückgelehnt und aktiv, genauso wie seine jüngste Platte «König ohne Land». Erst harte Beats und reduzierte Tracks, dann wieder weit geschwungene Synthiefelder oder ein Chorgesang der fantastischen Sängerin Alex Prince. Darüber donnern Afrobs bekannt wohl dosierte Rap-Ausbrüche oder klassische Feature-Tracks. Afrob versteht, wie schon zu Beginn seiner Karriere, den Rap als äusserst kreatives Handwerk und zeigt dies auch in seiner Musik. Seine Karriere ist so vielfältig wie HipHop selbst. Das soll im Herbst auch auf der Bühne gefeiert werden. Weil er in all den Jahren immer integer und authentisch geblieben ist, liefert Afrob garantiert grosssartigen Sound, und eine legendäre Bühnenperformance! Kein Wunder, dass sein treues Publikum ihn seit 25 Jahren supportet. Es wird Zeit ein Vierteljahrhundert Afrob auf der Bühne zu zelebrieren, mit neuem Material, in alter Frische, vom Reimemonster bis zum König ohne Land, vom Anfang bis heute.

Afrob Biography
Robert Zemichiel (born 1977), better known by his stage-name, Afrob, is an Afro-German rapper from Stuttgart. He is easily recognizable due to his trademark afro, from which his pseudonym is derived.
Biography:
He was born in Italy but moved to Germany at a young age. His musical career began in 1994 with performances at a number of hip hop jams. He became known through collaborations with rappers from Stuttgart's hip hop collective, the Kolchose, but it wasn't until 1999 that he released his first solo album, Rolle mit Hip Hop. The first single from this album, Reimemonster ("rhyme monsters"), which featured Hamburg City rapper Ferris MC, is still widely regarded as a German hip hop classic. The album itself was also enjoyed a fair commercial success, reaching a respectable 13th place in the German album charts. That year, he toured Germany with Kolchose colleagues Freundeskreis and later as the opening act for Die Fantastischen Vier.
His second album, Made in Germany, which was released in 2001, was less successful, despite featuring acts like Gentleman, Wasi from Massive Töne or Max & Joy Denalane. This album was more pensive than the first, however, and was interesting due to its social criticism, epitomized by the release of the anti-racist single Öffne Die Augen ("Open Your Eyes") with Frankfurt's D-Flame. Afrob's engagement against German racism continued with his participation in the Brothers Keepers project, collaborating with an all-star cast of Afro-German musicians in the single Adriano.
This project also marked the first collaboration with Samy Deluxe. They met again when they worked on the single Four Fists and apparently enjoyed the experience so much that they decided to unite as one group called ASD and record an entire album together. The product of this cooperation was called Wer Hätte Das Gedacht? ("Who Would Have Thought So?"), which hit the stores in 2003. The album entered the Top 10 of the charts, but some critics alleged that it lacked depth, as it was primarily a club album with the majority of tracks produced in the U.S.
