About this concert
The ECO will be exploring a wealth of repertoire with Roberto Forés Veses during his time as Principal Guest Conductor and this first concert celebrates the city of Paris. This world-leading chamber orchestra will bring to life with energy and virtuosity a programme which evokes the charm and vitality of the French first city as Mozart would have known it. Be transported through humour, joy and sorrow in the masterful flow of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23 performed by the acclaimed pianist Tom Borrow. Alongside this celebrated piece, the first half will also feature a work by the British composer Thomas Adès. One of our foremost contemporary composers his Three Studies from Couperin takes inspiration from Parisian François Couperin. ‘Three Studies from Couperin looks at music as if through a kaleidoscope, the shattered pieces of the original tumbling around like glinting fragments of coloured glass’ (Financial Times) An uplifting repertoire which also features composers Hahn and Bizet, this promises to be an evening full of joie de vivre.
